Fashion Friday: 2010 Fashion Campaigns

The New Year is fast approaching which means fashion designers are getting ready to present their new Spring/Summer ad campaigns for 2011. I wanted to look back on 2010 and find my favorite ads and share them with you. Which are your favorites? Are there any you love that I missed?

Heffington Moves MOCA

I cannot highly recommend this enough! Sir Heffington takes over MOCA for the ENGAGEMENT PARTY series starting this Thursday Oct. 7th 2010. Sir Heffington is a genius choreographer, fashion designer, dance guru, and artist. I first noticed him when I saw Robbie D’s musical, Fowl, and was blown away by his costuming and dancing. He truly is tapped into the pulse of cutting-edge concepts and artistry. His dance studio, The Sweat Spot in Echo Park, is an incredible community of dancers of all types with one thing is common they all have great style and energy. His fashion designs have been featured in magazines spreads like Flaunt. Lady Gaga recently tweeted that Sir Heffington’s band, We Are the World, is a favorite. I could go on and on about what a genius I think he is, but you should find out for yourself. I am so thrilled he is doing this series at MOCA Los Angeles; it is sure to be so inspirational.

Here are the deets:
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 7, 7–10pm
The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA
152 North Central Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90013

For their first Engagement Party event HEFFINGTON + The East Siders presents …AND NOW WE ALL DANCE!, an all-encompassing dance environment that offers open classes and features performances and video collaborations. The work will literally move the audience, who will be invited to participate in free-style dancing as well as choreographed routines. The convergence of music, art, and dance at MOCA will be electrifying!

The event will include a dance class taught by Ryan Heffington; performances by the Sweaty Sunday Dancers and the Fingered Dancers; and video collaborations by Heffington, Nina McNeely, Andrew Tonkery, Jessica Hundley, Nicole McDonald, and Steven Synstelien.

More Military

This fall military has no signs of slowing down. I’m personally loving the skinny cargo pants but to have any of these would be great staple pieces. Which is your style?

Feminine Touch

Here are some editorial and images I pulled for inspiration. I can’t get enough of all the ruffles, florals, lace, sheer and romantic pieces. I foresee me adding more of these kind of pieces to my fall collection – ADORE.

Oh! I can’t forget sequins!!!

Dare to mix & match!

Think a print is a standard ordinary print?   Think again! Any print, no matter how orthodox, can be mixed into a gorgeous, complex look just by adding other prints, colors, and textures!

Dare to experiment! <3

Just one of the many beautiful examples of a successful Mix & Match!
